ScripCheck

ScripCheck is an easy-to-use, computer-based verification and counting tool. It was designed to perform two primary functions:

• Verify that the correct medication is matched with the corresponding prescription, and
• Accurately count the number of pills dispensed.

This allows you to make some of your knowledge available to anyone you choose, and will free you up to do some of the more important things, like counseling patients.

VERIFICATION

ScripCheck verifies by comparing the NDC number printed on the vendor bottle to that printed on the patient label to see if they match. If they match, ScripCheck allows the operator to count the pills. By matching the drug to the patient label, you can be sure you are dispensing the right drug to the right patient.

COUNTING

The counting function uses a weight-based technique to count the number of pills poured into the tray. Scan the vendor bottle, and then pour the pills in the tray. When you reach the desired count, simply lift the tray off the scale and pour the pills in the bottle. ScripCheck resets itself for the next prescription.

SECURITY

Password options have been designed to give the pharmacist control over certain functions. ScripCheck will not allow the operator to perform those functions if the password is not known.
